PSP Partners with GGC to Develop Bio-based Transformer Oil, EnPAT, Revolutionizing Thailand's Industry Towards a Sustainable Future
P.S.P. Specialties Public Company Limited (PSP), the leading lubricant solutions partner, led by Deputy CEO Mr. Sakesan Krongphanich, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited (GGC), a leader in biochemistry and a Green Flagship Company of the GC Group focused on environmentally-friendly chemical products. GGC’s Managing Director, Mr. Kridsada Prasertsuko, represented the company in this collaboration aimed at developing and advancing the bio-based transformer oil product, EnPAT, towards commercial-scale production. This eco-friendly product aligns with the needs of the renewable energy market while reducing environmental impact.
The EnPAT product is designed with sustainability in mind, using bio-based raw materials sourced from Thai oil palm, thereby reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Additionally, this agreement emphasizes a feasibility study on business prospects and the potential for scaling production to an industrial level. It also involves joint efforts in marketing and distribution to enhance the product's competitive edge for future success.
Mr. Sakesan Krongphanich, Deputy CEO of P.S.P. Specialties Public Company Limited (PSP), stated, “The collaborative development of bio-based transformer oil from Thai palm oil is a pivotal project that not only drives business growth but also reduces dependency on imports and foreign raw materials. Additionally, it enhances the value of Thailand's palm oil industry, which collectively contributes positively to Thailand’s sustainable economic development.”
Currently, PSP is conducting trials of the EnPAT bio-based transformer oil in collaboration with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) under the EnPAT project. The research team has installed a prototype production system with a capacity of approximately 300 liters per batch, and system testing has now been successfully completed.
Mr. Kridsada Prasertsuko, Managing Director of Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited (GGC), stated, "In partnership with government agencies, GGC is implementing the EnPAT project to develop safe, environmentally friendly bio-based transformer oil derived from palm oil. This project includes integrated field testing to create sustainable commercial opportunities, aligning with the new economy under the BCG Model and the New S-Curve in Biochemicals. It adds value to palm oil, generates income for Thai farmers, and substitutes imports."
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in advancing clean energy innovation and developing high-quality products to meet future market demands. It drives Thailand’s industry towards sustainable global growth, resonating with GGC's commitment to fostering economic sustainability in Thailand’s agricultural and industrial sectors. This aligns with our vision to be a leader in environmentally friendly chemical products, powered by creativity for sustainable value creation.
